Not the cinematic kind. The ordinary kind. Children still needed breakfast, work still needed answering, and life kept moving while I quietly wondered where I’d gone.
I’m Frankie.
This is not a story about having all the answers. It is a story about learning to hear yourself again.
THE LONG WAY BACK
I was not broken. I had put myself down.
I came through marriage, motherhood, work, heartbreak, over-giving and years of holding everything together while quietly stepping out of my own frame.
I had become useful. Dependable. Capable.
I could carry a great deal.
What I could no longer do was hear myself underneath all the carrying.
Somewhere along the way, I had set myself down like a bag I fully intended to come back for.
And then I didn’t.
Until eventually, I did.
You haven’t lost yourself. You may have simply put yourself down.
WHAT I KNOW NOW
Survival can keep you alive. It cannot be the only place you live.
There comes a point when being “fine” is no longer enough.
Not because your life is terrible.
Not because you are ungrateful.
Because somewhere underneath the routines, responsibilities and brave little performances, there is still a person asking to matter in their own life.
I’m not here to become your guru.
Good. We can all relax.
I do not have a flawless morning routine, a secret formula or a personality transplant waiting behind a checkout button.
I am a person who came back the long way.
I still overthink. I still get frightened. I still occasionally lose the plot in a car park and then carry on because there are groceries in the boot.
What I do have is evidence. Evidence that you can rebuild trust in yourself. Evidence that small steps count. Evidence that a life can begin opening again before you have completely worked out where it is going.
Frankie is not the hero of The Midlife Renaissance. You are.
I am simply here to sit beside you, tell the truth and point toward the handrail when the path gets dark.
The ordinary details
Because none of us are only our hardest chapter.
THE WORK
I have worked across communications, digital media, business, accounting, project environments, customer relationships and the wonderfully chaotic business of solving real problems for real people.
I am interested in how people think, what helps them move and why so many capable humans stop trusting their own voice.
THE LIFE
I am a mother, a skateboarder, a writer, a questionable car singer and a person still building her own next chapter in real time.
I believe humour is oxygen, and that sometimes the most spiritual thing available is laughing before you cry again.
THE BELIEF
People deserve to matter in their own lives.
Not when everything is finished. Not when everyone else is happy.
Now.
WHY I BUILT IT
For the person who has held the whole bloody thing together.
I built The Midlife Renaissance for the woman sitting on the bathroom floor wondering where she went.
For the man sitting alone in his car, frozen, with no idea when talking became so difficult.
For the person whose life looks reasonably fine from the outside but no longer feels like somewhere they are fully living.
This is not here to fix you. You are not broken.
It is not here to turn you into someone shinier, louder or easier to market.
It is a collection of honest guides, prompts, reflection tools and practical handrails designed to help ordinary people come back to themselves one step at a time.
Not a complete reinvention. Not a six-week glow-up. Just somewhere honest to begin.
I will not tell you everything happens for a reason.
Some things are simply hard. We do not have to decorate them before we are allowed to survive them.
02
I will not promise that you will become amazing.
I do not know that. I will not lie to you in the first five minutes.
03
I will not stand above you.
I will tell you what I know, what I have lived and where I might still be kidding myself.
04
I will keep pointing back to you.
Your voice. Your choice. Your life. The breakthrough belongs to you.
A NOTE FROM FRANKIE
I wish someone had been there for me in the way I am going to try to be here for you.
Not with a rescue plan. Not with ten steps and an aggressively cheerful workbook.
Just with somewhere to put the truth down.
Somewhere to remember that being tired does not make you weak, wanting more does not make you ungrateful, and beginning again does not require permission.
There is a way back. I have walked enough of it to point.
Come in. Take your shoes off. We’ve got time.

LOST THE PLOT A LITTLE?
Good. You’re human.
This is where we stop pretending we are fine and find the next honest step back.
